Our Handgun program is hour core courses offered. We had broken down the levels from 1 thru 3 and each of the modules deal with different aspect of gun handling and shooting. TAC-1's Combat Triad and it's elements are well broken down into these 3 levels. Each student shooter must learn each step in appropriate manner to master the art of handgun shooting.
This introductory course is designed to teach defensive pistol shooting to beginners and to those who had never received formal training. This class will educate students on the basic firearms safety, firearms law, use of force doctrine, fundamentals of semi-automatic handgun operation and develop their basic marksman skills. Pistol-I module is now a 16 hour program divided into two (2) 8 hour courses- Pistol-I(a) & Pistol-I(b).
learn morePistol-II is divided into 4 basic phases (A, B, C & D). Each phase will teach students on the handgun fundamentals essentials and advanced technique needed for law enforcement and personal/home defense applications. Courses will review and expand on aspects of safety on and off the range, combat mind set, the 7 elements of handgun marksmanship, and the 5 elements of the "Modern Technique of the Pistol".
LEARN MOREThis course will cover advanced handgun techniques requiring a higher skill level to participate and to maintain a safe range. Students will drill on all the aspects of high-speed weapon manipulation with one and/or two hand operation at ranges from extreme close quarters to long distance shooting. Scenario will be provided to students for problem solving.
LEARN MOREWith the rise in popularity and the adaptation of the use of red dot sights (RDS) for both civilian and on duty pistols in law enforcement, TAC-1 had prepared a comprehensive class to introduce the concept behind the pistol with red dot sight and its effective operation. This class is designed to assist the shooters to transition into an effective use of red dot sights for pistol. The following technique and concepts will be introduced at a reasonable pace for the maximum retention.
LEARN MOREDesigned to introduce the police academy candidates the fundamental of law enforcement firearms training and technique to prepare them to excel in the academy. Candidates attending this course does not need to be competent shooters – just a will to learn. The course is intended for shooters who need a basic introduction to handgun safety, operation, and marksmanship as taught in all of the Police Academies across the country. Pistol and gear are included.
LEARN MORESafe Start is a response to the public’s need for a firearm orientation program for new shooters. This 4 hour (per phase) introductory course is for the individual who is unfamiliar with safe handling of handguns and legal aspect of owning a firearm. Safe Start is divided in to 2 phases: classroom & live-fire range.
LEARN MORETAC-1 CCW training is a course design to enhance skill set for those already carrying their handgun. We also offer CCW certification course for Ventura County Ventura County residents. Students will learn the required training in firearm safety and the law of the permissible use of a firearm.
LEARN MOREPistol Training Workshop is an unique class designed as a skill builder for those who had previously taken TAC-1 Pistol-I module or equivalent. The 4 hr. handgun workshop will review techniques that were already instructed in prior courses.
