TACTICAl POSITIONS & Use of Cover
Pistol-II Phase(B) will introduce the important concept of shooting from Cover & Concealment. This challenging 1-day (8 hrs) firearms training course focuses on engaging threats using cover from various shooting positions thus minimizing self as target. Furthermore, the concept of moving off the line-of-force and moving into cover while engaging a threat will be instructed.
Familiarize students on various pistol shooting positions. Students will be given concepts of changing levels, stabilizing the shooting platform and assuming the prone position for maximum stability.
Drills & Evaluation
Students will be exposed to shooting drills incorporating concepts leant in the course. The finally students will be evaluated with a course of fire and the final score will be evaluated for student's reference.
Use of Cover
Students will engage various static targets in a live-fire session while using cover incorporating various shooting positions discussed thus far. Student must be conditioned to engage threats from cover while continuously changing shooting positions and locations of exposure.
COURSE SUBJECT
The following technique and concepts will be introduced at a reasonable pace for the maximum retention.
This course will enhance the students' ability to immediately look for and assume cover upon deadly encounter to attain safety and tactical advantage to increase the chance of survivability. Advanced shooting positions and manipulations of the handgun from various alternative shooting positions are introduced.
Aside from shooting from Off-Hand positions, there are various other shooting positions that are essential to be able to shoot from various different objects such as as cover and concealment. Changing the elevation in which to shoot from is a common survival skill all shooters need to understand.
Module Time: 0700 hr to 1100 hrs
Once a student had successfully completed the POSITION module, they will be allowed to take this half to complete P2B module. Shooting from cover has many small details that need to be sorted out and this is one of the most important module we have in our Intermediate level. Ammo min 200 rounds
