Pistol-2(C) Module

Diminished & Low Light Training

Students will have the opportunity to shoot in low light situation where students are given the option of deploying a handheld flashlight or weapon mounted light to aid in visual identification. 


Pistol-II Phase(C) will focus on essentials of shooting  under diminished lighting condition.  Technical and the practical understanding of the effective employment of the handheld flashlight & weapon mounted light in a low light environment will  be examined.


Pistol-I(a) & (b) Or Equivalent [Must have taken basic firearms training] & Pistol-II(A) & (B)

Class Format

Lecture & Discussion: 4 hrs

What you'll learn

  • The importance of low light training 
  • Basic anatomy of the human eye
  • Various low light tools used in law enforcement and military 
  • Understanding technical specifications of illumination tools 
  • Principles of low light tactics and engagements 
  • Pistol drills for both hand-held and weapon-mounted lights 
  • Weapon manipulations in reduced light
  • Line drills vs. solo drills vs. team drills

Needed Gear

    • Semi Auto Pistol (9mm, 40 cal., 45 cal.)
    • Ammunition 300 rds (Students must provide own ammo)
    • A Sturdy belt
    • Min (3) magazines and holster
    • Eye protection (Prefer clear with no color and tint)
    • Ear protection (both outer and inner protections are recommended)
    • Practical Handheld Flash Light (LED  above 90 lumen/below 700)
    • Weapon Attached Light (Optional)
    • Light lens filter
    • Night sights on pistol (highly recommended)
    • Extra batteries (highly recommended - also available for purchase on site)
    • Appropriate attire and shoes for safety, weather & hot brass  (No sandals)
    • Water and snacks (also available on-site for purchase)
    • Gun bag/case to store and transport firearms
    • Shooting Mat
    • Marking pen (Sharpie)
    • Folding chair for your comfort
